LEADERSHIP

EXPERIENCES AND ACHIEVEMENTS

I've had the privilege numerous times in both my academic and professional life to take on leadership roles. As is evident in the Academic/Professional Experiences and Projects sections of this site, it is common that I assume leadership positions where possible.

I believe I have a strong tendency towards leadership roles when they are available to me. This is especially present in subjects during my studies where group work assessments are commonplace. I maintain a high degree of success in the projects that I lead and attribute my success to my exceptional  skills in managing teams.

It is commonly difficult to work with engineers, we can be quite opinionated and sometimes oblivious to other, possibly better solutions. I see these pitfalls in my own work frequently. I think my reflective ability is what allows me to help manage this conflict when it arises in team activities. This is what, I believe, makes me good at mediating disagreements when it comes to engineering design decisions in teams.

Furthermore, I am able to bring my professional experience into the academic setting where I have gained an exceptional amount of experience dealing with individuals of many engineering disciplines. I am always eager to expand my leadership skills and I do so by doing, I never turn down an opportunity to take charge.
